Good morning all! I hope everyone has been enjoying their extended weekend – who doesn’t love a double bank holiday?! I’m actually writing this on Thursday because I am determined to take a break this weekend. As I mentioned last week, I struggle to understand how other people manage to have so much down time. I’m sure we used to get more time at the weekends to get out and enjoy long walks or sit and watch a film. So I have spent this week cramming as much in as possible so I have very little to do over the bank holiday weekend.
How often do you just down tools, forget all the jobs that need doing and put your feet up? If you’re like me, probably not very often! I can’t recall the last time I felt like I had nothing to do. Right now I have 101 jobs to finish for work, two videos to film, my Avon order forms need to be written and my books distributed, the house needs cleaning and tidying and I need to do a food shop. On top of that there’s the usual washing and ironing to do. So…today and tomorrow I am going to do all of these things and then Saturday, Sunday, Monday is operation ‘FEET UP’!
I’ll let you know how that went! So my Monday motivation advice for today is to simply take a break. It’s bank holiday Monday, if you’re not at work then use it as an excuse to do absolutely nothing. Aim to get to the end of the day and feel rested. If you’re working today then you can still take opportunities for a break. If you are lucky enough to get a lunch break then get out in the fresh air, go somewhere where you can sit in the peace and quiet. Put your phone away and shut your eyes. Believe me you will feel so much more energised afterwards and ready to face the rest of the day. You owe it to yourself to stop every once in a while and forget all those jobs that need doing. There is nothing more important than giving yourself time to recharge.
I’d love to know what you do to make sure you take a break once in while. I hope you all had a great weekend and a very Happy Easter! Oh and finally, if you haven’t checked out my recent video, which is an Easter/Spring House Tour then please do…I would really appreciate it!
