Good morning Monday motivation fans! A very happy Monday to you all, I hope you’ve had an awesome week. It feels like everyone has been on holiday this last week. My social media feeds have been full of people jetting off on their holidays and we’re starting to feel the effects of a Summer spent at home. I was full of enthusiasm for our staycation this year planning lots of trips to the park and picnics but the weather has been so incredibly pants we’ve ended up doing a lot less than I had hoped. Archie and Phoebe have also definitely had enough of each other. 6 years is a pretty big age gap when it comes to the two of them playing together and although they often get on well 4 weeks in each others pockets can take its toll!
We’re not the best at planning for the future. We don’t have pensions or any financial future security which is probably a huge mistake but we believe in living in the moment and enjoying life right now rather than worrying too much about what will happen 20-30 years down the line. Having said that, we definitely have wishes for the future and we both believe in visualisation and positive thinking putting things that you want into your future. I talked about this in a previous post and it’s something that has always worked well for us. Picturing how we would like our future to be, whether that be 6 weeks or 6 years into the future is, I guess, how we do our planning. When it comes to booking holidays we have never been organised enough to book one more than a few months before we go. We have always just made the decision one day that we want to go away in 3 or 4 months time (sometimes 3 or 4 weeks time!) and we do a bit of research and book it. It certainly saves that long wait for the holiday to come around.
With this Summer being such a wash out we have started thinking about next year and are actually planning to book a trip away now for next Summer! That’s a big deal for and actually makes me feel a little nervous. A lot can change in a year and you never know if your circumstances will be the same in 12 months time. However, we need something to look forward to and to know that next Summer we will see some sunshine and have some uninterrupted family time and adventures. I gave a big clue on my Instagram stories today about where we are considering and anyone that knows us or has read my blog over the last 12 months will have a pretty good idea where we’re hoping to go. I will keep you posted! I think if we book our holiday now my future self, in 12 months time, will definitely be thanking me!
Do you find it easy to plan for the future? Do you make short term and long term plans or are you like us and just live in the moment? Have you tried positive thinking and visualisation? Does it work for you?
That’s all from me today…just a reminder that, if you haven’t already, you can enter my most recent giveaway here – entries close on Sunday 27th August. You can also read my slushy and sentimental anniversary post here…16 years of unwedded bliss! Have a great week!

I think a lot about the future, but try not to plan too far ahead as it stresses me at times x
