Good morning all! Welcome to your weekly does of motivation for a Monday morning and welcome to my new look site with a new name! It’s been a challenging week getting the site all ready looking how I want it, but I’m really happy with the way it looks…and the name too! Clarke Life is a name I had in mind for a family Youtube channel but since the blog has become so much of a family blog it made sense to use Clarke Life for the website and all the social media channels too. Unfortunately, at the moment, Facebook are not being helpful and are refusing to allow me to change my name! I find it baffling that they think they know best what my page should be called and although I have appealed twice they are standing firm. If the refuse my third appeal I will have to delete the page and start again which seems utterly ridiculous and a huge waste of a years’ work building my following. But if that’s what is needed then that is what I will do! Although my name isn’t Clarke (we never got round to getting married…engaged for 16 years!) everyone else in the family is and I’m now an honorary Clarke! Other than the name the site won’t change too much but I am going to attempt to get back to posting twice a week.
I hope you’ve all had a good week. Mine didn’t start too well. I had a bit of a crisis of confidence at work on Monday morning and just felt completely useless! The job I’m doing is so different from anything I have ever done before and, only working there two days a week, means it is taking much longer than I would like to learn the ropes and remember how to do everything. Having been there over a month I feel like I ought to know how to do everything but I definitely don’t! Anyway, after a little pep talk from a good friend I sucked it up and got on with it and the day didn’t end up going too badly after all. One of the best things this week was that the owners of the company asked me to work an additional day every week helping with their website and social media – something I do know how to do! And the best thing? I get to work from home! I did a little happy dance in the car on my way home that day!
As for the rest of this week it has been jam packed with play rehearsals and dance rehearsals and we’re now in the final week before the big shows for both Archie and Phoebe. I have spent a small fortune on new tap shoes, dance tights, ballet socks and hair grips…I am fast becoming a #dancemum!
Since February our gorgeous old dog, Polly, has been displaying some odd signs which we initially thought was a bladder infection. Since then she has become incontinent and has not responded to any of the medication that’s been prescribed. We were very sad to find out on Friday that she has chronic kidney disease. Polly is such a huge part of our family, and has been for the past 9 years since we rescued her. We adore her and are now working with the vets to find the best ways to treat her and keep her happy and comfortable. She is on a new food which, luckily, she loves and will hopefully help her gain back some of the weight she has lost these past months. We can’t face saying goodbye to her just yet and while she is happy and still able to get out for walks we will just take extra special care of her.
I feel like we are definitely on the fast track now to the end of term. I see so many posts from people whose children are already finished with school or who finish this week. We’ve got 3 weeks and counting and boy are we all ready for the break! Both my two have been so busy this year and have worked so hard they deserve a nice break. We’re hoping for some good weather this Summer holidays as we’re not going away anywhere so will be planning lots of day trips.
So that’s it for another week. This is my new beginning and I’m looking forward to planning some great content over the coming weeks. I hope you all have a brilliant week and treat each day like a fresh start and a new beginning.
Until next time…
Nicx
Well done with the boost at work, they obviously recognise that you have skills. Hope the little pooch is ok and yes we are looking forward to the end of term too 🙂

Your website looks fabulous! U hope you manage to sort the Facebook issue out. And how wonderful you can do part of your job from home doing what you love. I do this role for the firm I work for after they saw me doing my own, so now I enjoy it every day. I’m very lucky! Thanks so much for linking up to #TriumphantTales – hope to see you again on Tuesday!
Thank you!
