Morning Monday Motivation fans! How are we all doing at the beginning of a new week? Did you check out my Friday post? I wrote about my 5 top tips for improving your photography. We’ve got a jam packed couple of weeks coming up with lots of exciting and some slightly nerve-wracking things going on so we’ve had a relatively chilled weekend in preparation. I spent 3 hours in the hairdressers on Friday which was glorious, as well as a cut and colour I got my hair curled which is such a luxury as I just don’t get the time to do it myself! Archie had a basketball tournament on Saturday afternoon which was good fun, although they only managed to win one of their matches which he wasn’t too impressed with!
Archie is in the Scouts and for his chef’s badge had to cook a two course meal so I set him to work today cooking our Sunday roast. I soon realised that when it comes to teaching my children home-making skills I have definitely failed as a parent! Archie seriously hasn’t got a clue…he even struggled with the washing up! I think we often think it’s easier to just do the jobs ourselves than making the kids help with cooking, cleaning and tidying, but after today I think they’re going to be given some more housework to do (I’m sure they’ll be delighted!).

It’s all about Archie at the moment as he has his Grade 6 violin exam next week (eek!). This is the first time he has prepared for the exam mainly on his own. I have always helped with his practice and especially exam prep but we felt the time had come for him to start taking this responsibility on himself. It feels quite strange not being part of it but I just hope he feels he has done enough to get the result he wants. I know he can do it!
On a Monday morning it’s easy to feel low and demotivated especially with the weather like it is here at the moment. Back to work, back to school, the long week stretching ahead, it can seem like an endless cycle. So for this week’s Monday Motivation I challenge you to think about the week ahead as a time for new promise, potential and possibilities. If there’s something you’ve been putting off for ages – why not get it done this week? You’ll feel so much better when you have! If you’ve been meaning to start a new hobby, apply for a new job or perhaps start a new exercise regime – this week is the week to do it!
I am going to start using my planner better this week – I have a head full of dates and times and events and I really need to bite the bullet and write them down! If you’ve got something you’ve been putting off or you’re going to start something new or pursue a dream this week then leave a comment and let me know about it!
Have an amazing week – may it be full of success and happiness 🙂
Nicx
