Good morning and welcome to Monday Motivation #20 – Happiness is. Today Happiness definitely is a four day weekend. Even though I have the school holidays off work there is still something very special about a 4 day weekend. We always try to do something special as a family, no matter how small, and make sure we have some fun altogether. Easter Saturday is the same every year for my family. I am one of four siblings and as we are spread around the country we don’t see each other very often. Ever since I can remember we have been going to the point-to-point horse races and it has become a bit of a tradition. This weekend was no different and we all met up for a great day of fun and lots of picnic food in the sunshine. We all came back exhausted from all the fresh air.
Easter Sunday always starts with an Easter Egg Hunt. Mr C goes to a lot of trouble of making clues for Archie and Phoebe and then we hide the eggs all over the house for them to find. The children love it and then enjoy tucking into their stash of chocolate. There aren’t many days when it’s acceptable to eat chocolate for breakfast, but if you can’t do it at Easter then when can you?!
After our hunt for eggs at home we travelled over to Castle Ashby gardens where they were holding their annual Easter Egg Hunt. To say it was busy was an understatement! We had a bit of a stroke of luck as when we joined the back of the queue we spotted some good friends right near the front. Not only were we able to join them but they had some free passes too – total result! The egg hunt is great fun and great exercise too. The kids came home with a little bag of goodies each (like they needed any more chocolate!) and we came home for a much needed cup of tea.
I’m not sure what the plan is for Bank Holiday Monday but we will definitely make the most of the last few days of the holidays before the children go back to school on Wednesday. I’m fortunate enough to have the rest of this week at home so will thoroughly enjoy that before I go back to work for my last few weeks :-(.
That’s about it from me today. I think my brain is too full of sugar to impart any pearls of wisdom but I hope you’ve had a great weekend, whatever you were doing and enjoy this lovely short four day week. And guess what – in two weeks we get another long weekend…YAY!
Until next time…
