Goooood Moooorning! Happy Monday everyone! I hope you’ve all had a great weekend and are looking forward to a wonderful week ahead. Today’s Monday motivation is a little reminder of the importance of family. We’ve had a pretty chilled weekend and I was looking forward to just being at home and catching up on lots of jobs and mundane stuff! However, yesterday we decided at the last minute to go and see Beauty and the Beast. I love doing things on the spur of the moment, it’s pretty much how I was brought up. My Mum and I would often go on fun adventures without a plan! My favourite was at about 11pm one night before Christmas we jumped in the car and drove into central London to see the Christmas lights. I find trips like this are just so much better because you don’t have any plans or ideas about how your day will go so you enjoy everything for what it is without being disappointed if things don’t quite go to plan.
Anyway Beauty and the Beast was just incredible! I don’t get to go to the cinema very often and have only managed to go twice this year, to see La La Land and Beauty and the Beast. Both films met all my expectations and I absolutely loved them. Phoebe got dressed up in her Belle dress, much to Archie’s embarrassment, and was imagining she was in a limousine as we drove to the cinema!
After doing my hugely exciting food shop on Sunday we made another snap decision to take a drive to Salcey Forest with the bikes and the dogs and get some much needed fresh air. It was pretty windy but sunny and warm and I think every man and his dog had the same idea! We walked/cycled a 6 mile route and then treated ourselves to tea and cake at the cafe. We all came home pretty shattered but content having spent a quality afternoon together in the open air.
It’s pretty easy to get bogged down in the business of life and to spend weekends doing housework and other jobs that might seem important at the time but in the grand scheme of things don’t really matter. It’s done me good to throw caution to the wind and remind myself of the things that are important in life. Archie turns 13 in a couple of months and Phoebe is getting bigger every day. One day I will blink and they will have grown up and be off living lives of their own. We are together as a family for such a short amount of time, it’s vital we treasure and make the most of every second.
We took a pretty spur of the moment holiday last Summer and I have enjoyed reading back my posts and remembering the memories we made there. I’m not sure there’ll be any far away holidays this year but we will still make every effort to enjoy our time off as a family.
Have an awesome week :-)!
