Good morning from a snowy Northampton! Well this is it… Monday Motivation number 52!! A whole year of motivational posts to try to brighten your Monday morning and start your week off on a good foot. My main aim for these Monday Motivations was to try to find something positive in every week, no matter how rubbish it may have been, and also to force me to write something on the blog every single week. To be honest, I didn’t think I would achieve the goal but the feedback I have received and the comments that people really look forward to receiving my posts on a Monday morning in their inbox has really kept me motivated to keep going. I thought I might do a ‘best of’ post next week just to finish off the year and will then start afresh on 1st January – what better day to start a new challenge!
This week has been a bit up and down for me and I’ve had to put a stop to our Vlogmas videos due to having to work extra days in the office. I did consider keeping it going but the content would have been so limited it really wasn’t worth it. We will definitely be filming some of the fun activities we have planned over the next few weeks so I’m looking forward to that. This weekend was supposed to be filled with dance shows for Phoebe. On Saturday we went to watch her in her first of three performances and what an amazing job they all did! I was a very proud Mum sat in the audience. However, a heavy snowfall overnight meant Sunday’s shows were cancelled and as Phoebe is leaving the dance school she was more than a little bit disappointed not to be able to do her last two performances. We’re hoping they may be rescheduled so she can at least still have her last hurrah!
In England we really don’t cope too well with snow. Even with plenty of warning, roads weren’t gritted which caused early Sunday morning chaos. However, we are definitely a ‘get out there and make snow angels’ type of family and donned our warm coats, hats and boots and got out there in the falling snow and enjoyed it! Snow falls so rarely it is so important to have fun while it lasts. About 5 years ago my parents gave Archie a snow scooter for Christmas. We’d had some heavy snow that year and thought it would be great fun for future snowy days. Until yesterday we hadn’t had a single opportunity to use it! So our first job of the day at about 8am was to dig it out of the back of the garage and christen it on the newly fallen snow. We all had great fun and Phoebe loved her first proper snow experience.

After warming up inside we tucked into a big cooked breakfast and then we all piled in the car and set off to our local Cineworld for a cinema afternoon. The boys went to watch Jumanji and Phoebe and I went to see Paddington 2. If you haven’t seen it I thoroughly recommend it – I may have shed a tear or two! Phoebe was straight out back in the snow as soon as we got home and I had to drag her in by tempting her with hot chocolate as she was out there on her own in the pitch black building her snowman! At the time of writing this I’m not sure whether school will be on tomorrow, but we’re all secretly hoping for a snow day – fingers crossed!

Have you had snow where you are? Did you shovel or make snow angels? Snow is the perfect opportunity to get out there and be a kid again, no matter what your age! Have a great week and stay safe on those icy roads.
Nicx
